Education System Outline

In this section, we will be explaining our Education System Outline. This will be very helpful for understanding our educational methods and environment. There is also a summary chart at the bottom of this page.

Our Education Ideals

The most important thing about our school education is the education ideals. According to our Education Policy section, there are the following two elements:

1,	To bring our children up as people who can think and solve problems by themselves.
2,	To bring our children up as people who can communicate with respect and understanding for all nationalities and cultures worldwide.

Our Development Goals

We focus on five development areas:

1,	Social / Emotional Development
2,	Cognitive Development
3,	Language Development
4,	Physical Development
5,	Creative Development

Each area has its own detailed goals. We are sure that by achieving these goals, we will be able to mold each child into our ideal person. You can check these development goal details in the following Development Goals section. We would like to explain more details below about the five development areas.

1,	Social Development is making and maintaining relationships, responding to others appropriately, and interactions with others during play. We also group Emotional Development in this category, because their emotional growth has a lot to do with social situations. The emotional aspect of childhood development is defined as identifying oneself, controlling emotions, and learning values.
2,	The second area, Cognitive Development is about obtaining, storing, and retrieving information.
3,	Language Development is our third area We look at the development of listening, speaking, writing, and the ability to express one’ s feelings through English.
4,	The fourth area we look to is physical. Physical Development deals with large and small muscle control, sensory awareness, and physical growth.
5,	The last area we note is Creative Development, thinking, expressing, and acting in ways that are unique to each child. Though it is just beginning in preschool and kindergarten, it is an area that should be explored and developed to find strong areas in each individual

Our Curriculum

How can each child achieve our development goals? We offer a variety of activities in order to achieve these goals. Our activities are categorized into the following six curricula:

5,	Physical Education Ball practice / Soccer / Tennis / Dodge-ball / Gymnastics / Ballet / Swimming / Hip-Hop / Park Play / ETC.
6,	Cultures & Events New Comers / Graduates / Birthday Parties / Sleep-Over Nights / Sports Day / Barbeques / Halloween / Christmas / Setsubun / Girl’s day / Boy’s day / Tanabata / Field Trips / Other Japanese Cultural Events / ETC. このセクションでは、私たちの教育システムの概要を説明させていただきます。これにより、当校の教育内容・教育環境をより深くご理解いただけることと思います。なお、このページの下部に、図も掲載いたしました。あわせてご覧ください。

教育目標

まず中心となるのは、どのような人材を養成したいのかという当校の教育目標です。これについては、Education Policy / 教育理念・目標　のセクションでご説明したように大きく次の２つです。

1,	子どもたちに、自ら考え、問題を解決し、自立した生活を営める基礎能力を自然に身につけさせること
2,	国際社会に貢献できるコミュニケーション能力を自然に身につけさせること

５大発育分野のゴール

この目標を達成するために、私たちは、子どもたちの発育に特に重要な次の５分野に着目しています。

1,	Social / Emotional Development（社会性・感情の発達）
2,	Cognitive Development（認知の発達）
3,	Language Development（言語の発達）
4,	Physical Development（からだの発達）
5,	Creative Development（独創性の発達）

そして、私たちは、これらの５分野にそれぞれ細かなゴールを設定しています。子どもたちが、各ゴールをより多く達成していくことで、私たちの目標とする人材が育成されると確信いたしております。
詳しいゴール内容は、後述のDevelopment Goals / ５大発育分野のゴール、のセクションで細かく述べられています。ここで、私たちが着目するこの５分野についてもう少し説明しておきましょう。

社会性・感情の発達	社会性の発達とは具体的な例をあげますと、これは多くのお友達をつくり、良い関係を維持していけるかということです。遊びや生活を通して、お友達に適切に対応しコミュニケーションがとれるかということです。感情の発達とは、子どもたちが自分というものの存在を認識すること、自分で感情をコントロールできその価値を実感できることです。
認知の発達	さまざまな情報を得てそれらを蓄積し、必要に応じて関連した情報を取り出すことができる能力をいいます。
言語の発達	聞く・話す　のほかに、自分の感情を言葉でいかに適切に表現できるかが重要です。これは、日本語でも英語でもまったく同じことです。
からだの発達	筋肉の発達、骨格の発達、感覚の発達は、すべてのもとになる重要な要素です。
独創性の発達	考えること、表現すること、行動すること、これらを自分なりのやりかたで自らおこなえるようになることが重要です。

提供カリキュラム

それでは、具体的にどうすれば、前述の５分野のゴールをより多く達成していくことができるのでしょうか。
私たちは、子どもたちが、次に述べる６つのカリキュラム（正確には、それぞれのカリキュラムに分類されるアクティビティーとよばれる科目・種目）を毎日楽しんで実体験していくことで、自然に上記５分野のゴールを達成していくと考えています。

1,	Life （生活）習慣、礼儀、歯みがき、トイレ、着替え、テーブルマナーなど
2,	Basic Studies （基本スタディー）話す、読む、書く、発音（フォニックス）、文法規則、数学、科学、地理、コンピュータ
3,	Art （美術）お絵かき、色塗り、積み木、工作
4,	Physical Education （体育）ボールプラクティス、サッカー、テニス、ドッジボール、体操、バレエ、水泳、ダンス、公園遊び、遠足
5,	Cultures & Events （文化と行事）入園式、卒園式、お誕生会、お泊り会、運動会、バーベキュー、ハロウイーン、クリスマス、節分、ひな祭り、端午の節句、七夕などなお、主な科目・種目については、後述の Main Subjects / 主な科目内容　のセクションをご参照ください。

教育環境

このすばらしいカリキュラムをより効果的に実施するために、私たちが努力し目標としている教育環境があります。School Specialty / 当校の特色　のセクションで述べられている7項目のうちの以下の6項目です。
